The NASUWT's 'work to rule' industrial action in schools and colleges across England is about ensuring we send a very clear message to the Government that workload and working time is unacceptable and it is unsustainable.
Teachers in England are working some of the longest hours anywhere in the OECD. The NASUWT union has instructed its members to take action short of a strike from Monday.

We are a teachers' union. There are currently approximately 2000 members of the Wigan Association. We are the largest teachers' union in the Wigan Authority. Our local office is at Appley Bridge (near junction 27 M6) in the North West Regional Centre. The office has full time staff who can be contacted directly by members.
We hold general meetings, usually half termly. We produce newsletters on a regular basis which are distributed to all members through schools. Our main function is to support Wigan members, which is done on a personal level or through our range of courses which can be run at the centre or at Hillscourt Conference Centre, Rednal, Birmingham.
